Bush's Batch

1 cup plus 2 tablespoon sifted flour                                    1/3 cup granulated sugar

1/2 teaspoon baking soda                                                    1 egg

1/2 teaspoon salt                                                                  1 1/2 teaspoon very hot water

1/2 cup butter softened                                                        1/2 teaspoon vanilla

1/3 cup firmly packed brown sugar                                    1 cup chocolate chips

1. Preheat oven to 375
2. Sift together flour, baking soda and salt on waxed paper.
3. Beat butter, brown sugar and egg in large bowl with mixer until fluffy, about 3 mintues
4. Beat in hot water & vanilla.
5. Gradually beat in flour mixture until blended & smooth.
6. Stir in chocolate chips.
7. Drop dough by well rounded teaspoonfuls onto large greased baking sheet. 
8. Bake in preheated 375 oven for 10 minutes or until golden.
9. Cool on sheet on wire rack and cool completely.

Yield - 3 dozen
